Experience the sensations of a market in Provence with your guide who has selected the best markets not to be missed and the villages that are worth a detour. There will be free time for lunch on your own during the day.
Spend time in the dry stone built village of Gordes located in the heart of the Vaucluse Mountains (market on Tuesday only) and take a stroll in the charming rocky promontory. This village dominates the plain and from there admire the breathtaking view over the Luberon Mountains (on the other days, a photo stop will be organised).
From the middle of June to the middle of July we will make a quick stop at Sénanque Abbey to take pictures of the eye catching Lavender field in bloom.
Next stop will be the discovery of the village of Roussillon and its colourful houses (market on Thursday only). Get a taste of Provençal life by strolling through one of the most beautiful Provençal markets in the Luberon. There will be free time in Lourmarin (market on Friday only) famous for its Renaissance Castle.
On Saturday only we discover the city of Apt, famous for its candied fruits production (this will replace the stop in l'Isle sur la Sorgue). Its worldwide reputation comes from the Pope Urban V in the 15th Century when he tasted the candied fruits while he was on a pilgrimage here.
Off to L'Isle sur la Sorgue and a walk along the various canals to discover the antique shops. Did you know? There are more than 300 antics in l'Isle sur Sorgue where you may find many gems during your holidays in Provence. We then drive to the Fontaine de Vaucluse and walk up to the cave from which the River Sorgue emerges. Here you can admire the beautiful panorama of the area.
