Welcome to the Kingdom of Norway, a Country with the most beautiful Fjords on Earth! Upon arrival, transfer from the Airport to a hotel on your own (Private transfer can be pre-booked in advance). Depending on your arrival time, you can start exploring Norway free at leisure. Walk along the streets, explore the City of the Royal Family and the main Karl Johan's Street with many shops, bars and cafes. Meet your Tour Leader at the Reception of your Hotel for an informative meeting about your tour. In case of late arrivals, the Tour Leader will leave a note at Reception with a new meeting time and place.
Breakfast buffet in the hotel. After breakfast, take a morning departure by Train towards Trondheim. Depart from hotel around 07:30am and arrival at Trondheim around 14:30pm (depending on train schedule). This journey will offer you stunning views of the Norwegian Countryside, longest Lake Mjosa and Vinstra region along the way. Upon arrival, take a 2 Hour Panoramic City Tour of Trondheim ending at the hotel. Afterwards enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Trondheim is the third largest City in the Country. Vikings settled on the Estuary of the Nidelven River in the 10th Century. Before the 16th Century it was called Nidaros. Green and flowery City, it is pleasant to stroll in the centre, in the pedestrian streets and the old quarters. Early Breakfast buffet in the hotel. After breakfast, you will board on Hurtigruten Cruise by 09:00am at the latest. We will sail through the wide Trondheim Fjord that is bounded by rolling Farmland and enter the Coast and the open sea. You can Disembark in Kristiansund and be driven along the Atlantic Ocean Road (Optional Activity with a Supplement), which has been called the World's most beautiful drive. The road meanders along islets and skerries. Afterwards, you can Embark you Cruise again in Molde. The Atlantic Ocean Road (Atlanterhavsveien) is an 8.3 km scenic Coastal Route in Norway. Spanning County Road 64 between Bud and Kristiansund, it famously connects several Islands across the open sea using eight dramatic Bridges. One of the Norwegian Scenic Routes. The last day of the cruise takes you through a diverse Coastal landscape of bare Rocky Mountains and a maze of sounds and waterways. The great Fjords and Glaciers are situated inland. Bergen awaits at the end of the voyage. Bergen is the Gateway to the Fjords of Norway. As a UNESCO World Heritage City and a European City of Culture, the Bergen region has the ideal combination of nature, culture and exciting urban life all year around. Enjoy lunch onboard of the cruise. Upon arrival in Bergen, meet your Local Guide and enjoy a 2 Hour Tour of the City of Bergen. Pass through the most emblematic places such as the Hanseatic Bryggen, with the Church of Mary, the Hakon Fortress and the famous Fish Market. Overnight stay at a Hotel in Bergen. Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast you will have a chance to admire a view from mountains surrounding Bergen. The Fløibanen Funicular in Bergen is one of Norway's best known and most visited attractions. The journey up to Fløyen (320 metres above sea level) takes about 5-8 minutes. After the Funicular trip, you can taste specialities like Smoked Salmon, fresh Shrimp or hot Smoked Whale in one of the restaurants at the Fish Market. In the afternoon, sail through the Osterfjord on this Roundtrip Fjord Cruise from Bergen to Mostraumen. Admire views of landmarks like the colourful Bryggen Wharf, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mountainsides, Waterfalls and the Mostraumen Strait. Afterwards, return to Bergen and enjoy the afternoon free at leisure. Meals: Breakfast
In the morning, enjoy free time at leisure to explore the City on your own or visit Bergen Aquarium (Optional Entrance) where you will have the opportunity to see in more than 60 Aquarium Tanks Nordic Species, Tropical Species and many others from the Quays to the Great Depths. Afterwards, transfer to the pier to board the High Speed Passenger Boat that will take you through some of the most scenic parts of Western Norway and the Sopgnefjord region, which is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Near Bergen passing through Islands, Fishing Communities and sheltered Coastal Waterways. Around Lavik and Nordeide, the landscape becomes more Mountainous. After entering Sognefjord, the scenery becomes dramatic with steep mountainsides plunging into deep blue water. Near Balestrand and Leikanger, you'will see Orchards, Waterfalls, traditional Fjord Villages and snow-capped peaks in the distance. Dinner and overnight stay in Leikanger. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely morning in Leikanger, one of the Orchard Villages along the Sognefjord. The Village sits on a sunny stretch of shoreline surrounded by Fruit Farms, forested Hillsides and Mountain views. Around midday, board the express boat for Flåm. With roughly two hours before your Train, there is plenty of time for a relaxed lunch that will be waiting for you where you will be able also to try the local Cider produced from the Orchards of the Sognefjord region. At 16:00pm, board the famous Flåm Railway, widely regarded as one of the World's most spectacular Railway journeys. First part of the Train journey takes you to Myrdal Station. Myrdal Station is a Mountain Railway Station and Junction, located about 13 km from the Village Flåm. There you will switch to regional train to Oslo. The Flåmsbana is one of the steepest Trainlines in the World and the Train journey runs through fantastic nature, past the Rallar Road, steep Mountains, breathtaking Waterfalls, through 20 tunnels and offers many viewpoints that will leave you wanting to repeat the journey over and over. The evening Train Eastward crosses the spectacular Hardangervidda plateau, Northern Europe's largest Mountain plateau. Depending on the season and daylight, you will see Alpine Lakes, wide open Tundra landscapes, Glaciers in the distance and isolated Mountain Stations before descending gradually toward eastern Norway and finally Oslo late in the evening. After breakfast in the morning, you will enjoy a 3 Hour Sightseeing Tour with a Local Guide. The Guided Tour of the City includes a visit to the Frogner Park including more than 200 sculptures of Gustav Vigeland. You will also see the magnificent Royal Palace, City Hall and Akershus Fortress. The remainder of the day at leisure. Enjoy some last minute shopping for the Viking souvenirs.
