Breakfast in the hotel. A Taxi driver will be waiting for you at the Hotel Reception to bring you to a small Port. Here, you will start a Royal Canal Cruise where you can learn about the City and its long history. Stockholm is generally referred to as Beauty on Water, or Venice of the North, which is understandable, as the city is built upon 14 Islands. It is surrounded by Lake Mälaren and by the Baltic Sea. The city's grand public buildings, Palaces, rich cultural history and Museums reveal its 700 year old history beautifully. After the Royal Canal cruise, enjoy the City. This morning, transfer to Train Station for your departure to Oslo by highspeed train (on your own). Enjoy a comfortable and scenic journey as you travel from Sweden to Norway. Upon arrival in Oslo, check-in at your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore Norway’s Capital at your own pace. You might choose to stroll through the City Centre, visit the Harbour front or relax in one of Oslo’s many cosy cafés. Today, your journey continues from Oslo into the heart of Norway’s spectacular Fjord region. Board the Bergen Railway from Oslo in the morning and travel through dramatic mountain landscapes to Myrdal, a scenic Mountain Station and Junction point. From there, connect to the legendary Flåmsbana Railway, which is one of the steepest and most beautiful train journeys in the world. This panoramic ride takes you past steep cliffs, cascading waterfalls, remote farms and through 20 tunnels as you descend from the Mountains to the Fjord Village of Flåm. Upon arrival in Flåm, you will have free time to explore this charming village nestled at the end of the Aurlandsfjord, an arm of the mighty Sognefjord, known as the King of the Fjords and the longest in Norway. In the afternoon, embark on a Fjord cruise from Flåm to Balestrand, gliding through the serene waters of the Sognefjord, surrounded by towering peaks and postcard perfect scenery. The Aurlandsfjord section of the journey, a 17 km arm of the Sognefjord, is widely considered one of the most beautiful stretches of Fjord in the world. Stroll along the waterfront, visit the charming art galleries or simply relax and take in the peaceful atmosphere. Alternatively, you may choose to join an optional half day excursion to Fjærland, where the Glacier meets the Fjord. Optional Excursion: Fjærland & Glacier Experience. This round trip tour from Balestrand includes a scenic boat ride through the breathtaking Fjærlandsfjord, flanked by steep Mountains and lush landscapes. Upon arrival in Fjærland, a shuttle bus will take you to the Norwegian Glacier Museum, where you can enjoy Ivo Caprino’s panoramic film about the Jostedalsbreen Glacier and explore the engaging exhibits. The tour continues by coach to two stunning glaciers, Supphellebreen and Bøyabreen, before returning to Fjærland for the boat trip back to Balestrand.
