Upon arrival, you will be met at Madrid Airport and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Join your Tour Director and fellow travellers for an authentic Welcome Tapas Dinner at a local restaurant. Today, discover the beauties of the city with a guided city tour including Barrio de la Morería, the Hapsburgs District, Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa, the Madrid of the Bourbons and the complex town planning schemes of Charles III, the Royal Palace, Cibeles and Neptuno Fountains and the Puerta de Alcalá. You will also see contemporary Madrid with areas such as Gran Vía, Castellana, the District of Salamanca as well as the commercial and financial areas of Modern Madrid and the Santiago Bernabéu Football Stadium. During the visit, we will taste the typical Chocolate with Churros, the most Madrid style snack. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure to continue exploring the wonders that the city has to offer. After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Salamanca. Enjoy some free time in this University City and World Heritage Site of great architectural and artistic wealth. Afterwards, we continue to the Portuguese border to reach Porto, which is located along the Douro River estuary in northern Portugal. Porto is one of the oldest European Towns and proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996. Meals: Breakfast
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before joining a guided sightseeing tour of Porto. Admire the Cathedral, Stock Exchange building and Santa Clara Church. Afterwards, enjoy a Douro River Cruise and discover famous Port Wine Cellars with a Wine tasting experience (included). The rest of the day is free at leisure. After breakfast, we depart Porto to Aveiro, which is known for its picturesque canals earning it the nickname 'The Venice of Portugal’. Enjoy a ride on a Moliceiro, a traditional colourful boat used for navigating the canals of Aveiro, before heading to Coimbra. Upon arrival, we will meet the local guide for a tour of Coimbra, which is a historic city known for its prestigious University (one of the oldest in Europe), charming Medieval streets and beautiful riverfront. This morning after breakfast at the hotel, we depart to the Batalha Monastery, which is a masterpiece of Gothic and Manueline style and considered a World Heritage Place by UNESCO. Afterwards, we continue to the picturesque fishing town of Nazaré and enjoy some free time at leisure before we continue to Lisbon. In Lisbon, we will cross the Tagus River to Cacilhas and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant featuring Seafood. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
After breakfast, join a morning city sightseeing tour of the Ancient Olissipo, driving through its main squares and avenues, Belem Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, Monument to the Discoverers, Marquis of Pombal Square and Liberty Avenue. The afternoon is free at leisure for you to catch the nostalgic corners of Alfama Quarter and the Old City gathered next to its Castle with old buildings nested in narrow twisting ʻRuas’, which are full of colour and house genuine 'Tabernas’. The rest of the day is free at leisure to enjoy this magnificent city on your own. Meals: Breakfast
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before we depart for Mérida, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well preserved Roman ruins including the Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre. Explore its rich historical heritage before continuing to Madrid. In Madrid, join your fellow travellers for a Farewell Dinner. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
