Today, arrive in Lisbon at Praça do Marquês de Pombal at 09:00am before setting off north. Through a landscape rich in Windmills and Orchards, we will arrive in Óbidos, a Town surrounded by Medieval Walls. Admire the harmony of the architecture, the diversity of handicrafts and taste the famous Ginjinha (Bitter Cherry Liqueur). Afterwards, we continue to Alcobaça, dominated by the imposing Church that introduced the Gothic style to Portugal and where King Pedro I Pedro and Inês de Castro, who are know for there love stories, rest in delicate Tombs. We continue our journey to Nazaré, a typical Fishing Village known for its magnificent beach and its traditions and legends. Afterwards, we depart Nazaré to Batalha where you will be dazzled by the grandeur and delicacy of the Gothic style of Batalha Monastery, which is where Prince Henry the Navigator and mentor of the Portuguese Maritime epic rests in his Tomb. We continue on to Fátima, the world Shrine of Marian Worship and Altar of the world where you will have the opportunity to watch the Candlelight Procession. Overnight stay in Fátima.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for Coimbra to visit the one of the oldest Universities in the world. You will be surprised by the splendour of its Baroque Library, its Musical and University traditions. In Coimbra, we will also visit the Church of St. Clara, whose Silver and Crystal Reliquary rests the much loved Queen Santa Isabel who was famous for the miracle of Roses. As you stroll through the City Centre, admire Coimbra's ceramics before departing this afternoon to Aveiro, a city criss-crossed by canals and known as the 'Venice of Portugal'. Here, you have time to see the graceful 'Moliceiro' boats and taste the delicious traditional 'Ovos Moles.' Our journey continues to Porto for our overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before exploring Porto, Portugal’s second largest City and a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its riverside area, historic houses, Palaces and Churches, all complemented by a glass of the world famous Port Wine. Afterwards, we head to Minho, a region of lush green landscapes and sparkling 'Green Wine'. Start in Guimarães, the birthplace of Portugal and its first King, where the medieval atmosphere comes alive in the historic centre. Visit the Sacred Hill, the Castle and the 15th Century Palace of the Dukes of Bragança. Afterwards, continue to Braga, which is known as the 'Portuguese Rome' for its rich religious heritage featuring the country’s oldest Cathedral and the Bom Jesus do Monte Sanctuary, which is famous for its Baroque stairway and gardens. Afterwards, we return to Porto for our overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, we depart for Amarante, which is a charming Town known for Saint Gonçalo, the Patron of love and marriage, with a riverside Monastery housing his Tomb and a bustling market full of local products. Afterwards, we visit Vila Real to explore the gardens of the Mateus Estate, which is famous for its façade on Portuguese Rosé Wine bottles. Enter the Douro Valley, a demarcated Port Wine region with stunning vineyard landscapes before stopping in Lamego to see the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora Dos Remédios with its grand Baroque staircase and taste local delicacies like Ham and the famous 'Bola de Lamego'. Our journey continues to Viseu, the centre of the Dão Vineyards and linked to the Lusitanian Hero Viriato. Its Ancient Town features narrow streets and granite doorways with carved coats of arms. Afterwards, we travel to Urgeiriça for our overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast
Today, we travel through the heart of Portugal to Bussaco, which is renowned for its lush forest filled with rare and exotic trees and home to a romantic hotel that once served as a Royal Hunting Lodge. Afterwards, we head to Tomar, a City deeply connected to the Order of the Templars who were granted these lands in 1159 by King Afonso Henriques for their role in the Christian Reconquest. Visit the imposing Castle and the Convent of Christ, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which reflects a blend of architectural styles added over the centuries. Enjoy the historic charm of the City before continuing the journey to Lisbon for our overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, depart to Sintra for a day of luxury. Enjoy a visit to the Palace of Sintra and walk through the charming Town before enjoying the amazing views from the Western most point of mainland Europe, Cabo da Roca. Along the Coast, we pass one of the most famous surfing beaches, the incredible Hell’s Mouth, cosmopolitan Cascais and the gardens of Estoril Casino. Afterwards, we return to Lisbon for our overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast
Today, spend the day exploring the Town of Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, rich in culture, history and traditions. Departing from Lisbon, we cross the Tagus River and travel through scenic landscapes of Olive trees, Cork Oaks and Vineyards. In Évora’s charming whitewashed streets, visit key landmarks such as the Roman Temple, the Romanesque-Gothic Cathedral, Saint Francis Church with its eerie 'Chapel of Bones' and the historic University. At the market, discover local products that define the region’s renowned cuisine. Admire traditional handicrafts in cork, ceramics and copper. After lunch, enjoy free time to explore the City on your own or join in one of the suggested activities including tasting local Wines, Cheeses and Olive Oil. Overnight stay in Évora. Meal: Breakfast
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy part of the morning free at leisure to explore Évora more before driving Southward past Beja, where the highest Tower in a Portuguese Medieval Castle dominates the Town and the region. Crossing the low Mountain range, we enter the Algarve. Alongside fields of Orange trees, we arrive in Silves. This renowned Town is dominated by its Red Sandstone Castle dating back to Moorish times and by the memories of its former Cork Industry. We continue onto the golden sands of the Algarve passing Praia da Rocha en route to Lagos for our overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast
The Algarve has the call of the sea that led to the discovery of the New World. Today, we depart Lagos and stop in Ponta da Piedade to admire the magnificent views over the Atlantic Ocean and cliffs whose shapes have been sculpted by the erosive action of both the sea and time. Afterwards, we continue to the Fishing Port of Sagres for a visit to the Fortress that was the mythical 'Navigation School' forever linked to the presence of Prince Henry the Navigator during the first days of Atlantic navigation and the discovery of the African Coast. Our journey continues along the cliffs to Cabo São Vicente, the most South Western point in mainland Europe before arriving back in Lagos. The City of Lagos, a cosmopolitan Town with a Marina, Fishing Port and home to some of the most delicious Algarve dishes such as the Fish and Shellfish cooked in a cataplana copper pan, as well as the fine sweets such as the famous Marzipan, Almond and Fig Cakes. Return to the hotel and enjoy the afternoon free at leisure to explore Lagos or take a dip in the warm sea. Meals: Breakfast
Take one last look at the water while travelling along the coast before bidding farewell to the Algarve. Our return trip to Lisbon takes you through the City of Setúbal, a major Port and industrial centre on the North bank of the Sado Estuary. Afterwards, we take a scenic route over the Arrábida Mountain Range, which is an area preserved as a Natural Park, with amazing scenery and unique vegetation at the gates of Lisbon and incorporating sweeping views of the Troia Peninsula. Crossing the Tagus River Bridge, we arrive in Lisbon where our services end. Make your own way to Lisbon Airport for your onward journey or return flight home (not included, at your own expense).
