Today, arrive in Lisbon at Praça do Marquês de Pombal at 09:00am before setting off North. Through a landscape rich in Windmills and Orchards, we will arrive in Óbidos, a Town surrounded by Medieval Walls. Admire the harmony of the architecture, the diversity of handicrafts and taste the famous Ginjinha (Bitter Cherry Liqueur). Afterwards, we continue to Alcobaça, dominated by the imposing Church that introduced the Gothic style to Portugal and where King Pedro I Pedro and Inês de Castro, who are know for there love stories, rest in delicate Tombs. We continue our journey to Nazaré, a typical Fishing Village known for its magnificent beach and its traditions and legends. Afterwards, we depart Nazaré to Batalha where you will be dazzled by the grandeur and delicacy of the Gothic style of Batalha Monastery, which is where Prince Henry the Navigator and mentor of the Portuguese Maritime epic rests in his Tomb. We continue on to Fátima, the world Shrine of Marian Worship and Altar of the world where you will have the opportunity to watch the Candlelight Procession. Overnight stay in Fátima.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for Coimbra, a City with one of the oldest Universities in the world. You will be surprised by the splendour of its Baroque Library as well as its Musical and University traditions. In Coimbra, we will also visit the Church of St. Clara, whose Silver and Crystal Reliquary rests the much loved Queen Santa Isabel who was famous for the miracle of Roses. As you stroll through the City Centre, admire Coimbra's ceramics before departing this afternoon to Aveiro, a City criss-crossed by canals and known as the 'Venice of Portugal'. Here, you have time to see the graceful 'Moliceiro' boats and taste the delicious traditional 'Ovos Moles.' Our journey continues to Porto for our overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast

In the morning, we will visit the City of Porto. Situated on the right bank of the mouth of the River Douro, it is Portugal's second largest City. We will set off to discover the streets, avenues, monuments and characteristic places of this City including the romantic Palácio da Bolsa with its wonderful Arab Room, the Church of St. Francisco with its dazzling gilded decoration and the traditional and popular Bairro da Ribeira where you can see the delicate filigree work. We will also visit one of the most renowned and traditional Port Wine Cellars where you can enjoy a tasting. Afterwards, we will continue to the Minhoo region where history, religion and legends mingle with magnificent monuments, breathtaking views, delicious cuisine, unique wines, colourful shawls and delicate linens. Through a landscape where green gave its name to the region's wine, we find Guimarães, the cradle of nationality. On the Sacred Hill, the Royal Castle and the Bragança Palace convey the strength and power of Kings and Nobles and the streets and architecture of the City Centre remind us of Medieval times. We continue our journey to the City of Braga, which is known as the 'Rome of Portugal'. Feel the power of this sacred place in the oldest Cathedral in the country and in the Bom Jesus do Monte Sanctuary with its fascinating Baroque staircase. This afternoon, we return to Porto for our overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, we depart Porto for Amarante, a small Town on the banks of the River Tâmega. Amarante is proud of Saint Gonçalo, the matchmaker Saint, who venerated in his Convent overlooking the River. It houses colourful porches, patisseries with delicious Convent sweets and a market where you can feel the pulse of life in the region. Afterwards, we pass through Serra do Marão to Vila Real where we will visit the harmonious and fragrant gardens of Mateus Palace whose façade is reproduced on the labels of the famous Rosé Wine. Be carried away by the magic of the landscape and feel the power of man's work in the Vineyards of the Douro Demarcated Region where one of the most famous nectars of the Gods is produced, Port Wine. Enjoy a stop in Lamego, where the superb Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios overlooks the City. Here, you can taste the traditional Lamego Ball before we depart for Viseu. Upon arrival in Viseu, the Dão Wine Region, we will stop to honour Viriato the Lusitanian, Portugal's first hero. In the centre, the Cathedral dominates an area of streets where emblazoned houses mingle with a lively and diverse trade. Afterwards, we will continue our journey to Urgeiriça for our overnight stay. After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive through the heart of Portugal to Bussaco where the romantic Palace Hotel, which was a former Royal Hunting Palace, stands with its lush and unusual vegetation. We continue to Tomar, a City whose development is closely linked with the Order of the Templar's, which received these lands in 1159 as a reward for the assistance given to Dom Afonso Henriques (the first King of Portugal) in the Christian Reconquest of the Territory. We will visit the Convent of Christ, which is a monument declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983. We continue our journey until we reach Lisbon, which is the end of our services.
