This morning after breakfast, transfer to Sintra. Here, follow a historic path through subtropical forest to the Ancient Moorish Castle, set among dramatic granite formations. Continue upward to the flamboyant 19th Century Pena Palace, perched on Sintra’s highest summit and surrounded by a remarkable Park filled with exotic species from around the world. Descend via the artisanal quarter of São Pedro and settle into your accommodation for three nights. Overnight stay in Sintra. Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, take a taxi transfer to the Coast via the Wine growing region of Colares. Begin your walk at Cabo da Roca, the Westernmost point of continental Europe, marked by soaring cliffs and uninterrupted ocean views. Follow colourful coastal paths to Adraga and Praia Grande beaches with possible swimming depending on the season. Afterwards, take a return transfer to Sintra for your overnight stay. From Central Sintra, follow a peaceful forest road along the massif’s Northern slope. Pass several historic Quintas and Romantic era Palaces that reflect the region’s artistic and architectural richness. Explore the enchanting Park of Monserrate, which is one of Portugal’s most beautiful Botanical Gardens, where fern groves, exotic plantings and thematic gardens create an extraordinary atmosphere. Continue to the Wine Village of Colares with the possibility to visit its traditional cellar. Afterwards, take a transfer back to Sintra. Meals: Breakfast
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before taking a transfer to Peninha, an exposed ridge offering sweeping views over the Atlantic and the Sintra Coastline. Here, begin your descent along Shepherds’ trails and Fishermen’s paths scented with Rosemary, Rockrose and Iberian Lavender with the ocean opening gradually before you. Reach the small 18th Century Guincho Fort, overlooking Abano Beach, a peaceful spot for a break or, in Summer, a refreshing swim before continuing along Guincho’s wide, wind shaped surf beach. At the end of the walk, meet your driver for a transfer to Cascais or Lisbon for your overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast
