Today, you will arrive at Edinburgh Airport and take a transfer to your hotel to check-in. You have the day to head out and explore the beautiful Capital City of Scotland, which is split into two main areas the New Town with its orderly streets and Georgian Mansions, and the Old Town with its narrow lanes and Medieval buildings. You can add an open-top bus ticket (not included), which is valid for 24 hours. Alternatively, you can visit the newly relocated Edinburgh Gin Distillery in the heart of the City. Edinburgh is a vibrant City with excellent shopping and restaurants, so you will not be short of things to see and do.
This morning, you can explore Edinburgh a little deeper. Visit Edinburgh Castle, which is majestically situated on top of an extinct Volcano with stunning views of the City. You can either use an audio guide (available in several languages) or take one of the guided tours of the Castle in English. Why not get hands on and create your own Harris Tweed Handbag or Satchel. This morning, make your own way to Waverley Station in Edinburgh where you will board a train to York. Sit back and enjoy one of the most scenic train journeys in Britain, as the train travels along the East coast of the Scottish Borders, crossing the border into England to follow the Northumberland coast. The afternoon is free to explore York on your own after you check-in. The Town walls and Medieval lanes mean that the City is best explored on foot. Make sure to walk down the Shambles, which is the most famous street in York where the overhanging timber framed buildings almost touch above your head. You may also choose to take an early evening cruise on the River Ouse that flows through the City. Overnight stay in York. Meals: Breakfast
Today, you have the day free to continue exploring York. You may want to take an open-top bus tour around the City or visit one of the many interesting attractions such as York's Chocolate Story or Jorvik Centre. There is also the option to join a day tour to one of the two National Parks in Yorkshire, North York Moors or the Yorkshire Dales. Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, journey back to the train station in York where you board a train for the short journey to London this morning. Upon arrival into London, make your way to your hotel to check-in. If you have included an open-top bus ticket, you can start using it this afternoon to explore Britain's cosmopolitan Capital City. Alternatively, you can opt for a private taxi tour to satisfy all curiosities (not included). Overnight stay in London area. Meals: Breakfast
Today is free to discover London on your own. Why not join a Graffiti Tour of Shoreditch or a Food Tour in one of the many trendy spots in the City (not included). There are many famous attractions to visit on your own including the Tower of London and the London Eye, so you will definitely not be short of options. Overnight stay in London area.
