Today, take a flight from Keflavík Airport in Iceland to Ilulissat Airport in Greenland. Upon arrival in Ilulissat around 13:25pm, you will be transferred by hotel shuttle to your hotel for your overnight stay. This evening, enjoy a Midsummer Iceberg Safari on the Icefjord by boat. Tonight, enjoy a 2 Course Welcome Dinner at hotel. Meals: Dinner
After breakfast at the hotel, you will embark on a Guided Hiking Tour to the old Settlement by the Icefjord. Guided Hiking Tour to the Old Settlement by the Icefjord Duration: 2 Hrs Beautiful Icebergs are the setting for the Old Settlement of the Sermermiut, which is 1½ kms south of Ilulissat. For 4000 years, different Inuit cultures lived in the settlement and today you can still see relics left from times gone by. Learn about the Inuit people’s way of life and traditions before the Europeans came to Greenland, see the ruins and touch the permafrost with your own hands. On this hike we will pass 'kællingekløften' where you can enjoy the magnificent view of the Icefiord before heading back to Ilulissat. This afternoon, enjoy a Guided Cultural City Walk Duration: 3 Hrs This afternoon, enjoy a Guided City Cultural and Historical Walk of Ilulissat where you will get an enhanced understanding of the Greenlandic culture and history, which will give you a new perspective of Greenland. You will learn about the history of the city, the Greenlandic culture and the modern life 300 kms north of the Arctic Circle. Some highlights along the way are the fishing harbour and the hunters trading post 'Brædtet', the Church and the house where the famous explorer Knud Rasmussen was born. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing on a boat tour to Oqaatsut (Rodebay) Settlement with lunch included. Boat Tour Oqaatsut (Rodebay) Settlement including lunch Duration: 5 Hrs The settlement Oqaatsut (Rodebay) was, through several centuries, the resort of the Dutch Whale Hunters. Whales are still drawn ashore here every once in a while. Oqaatsut is beautifully situated about 15 kms north of Ilulissat and even though it only has 45 inhabitants it has got its own school, Church, shop and a small restaurant called 'H8', which is one of the old buildings from the colonial time. Dinner will be at H8 Restaurant or somewhere in Oqaatsut. Return to Ilulissat for your overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
After breakfast, you will meet the famous Eqi Glacier face to face on a Full Day Tour. By boat it is possible to get very close to the Glacier and hopefully experience pieces of ice breaking off. The sounds are enormous and breathtaking. On the way we pass tiny settlements, steep fields, beautiful waterfalls and Icebergs in incredible shapes and colours. If you are lucky you might even spot Seals and Whales on the way. Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast this morning, you will be transferred to the airport for you departure flight to Iceland for your onward journey. Meals: Breakfast
