Arrival on your own at your hotel in Beaune, known as the 'Capital of Wine'. You will be met here and everything you need for your holiday will be handed over. Places to visit include, the 'Chapelle Saint Jacques', the 'Commanderie du Temple' and the 'Hospices'.
Your first walking day will take you across the vine clad hills of the Côtes de Beaune and through villages from Volnay to Meursault where you will find the remains of an ancient Castle. Finish at Chagny, with its 15th Century Observation Tower and fine architecture. Meals: Breakfast

Continue through vineyards visiting Rully, a Gallo-Roman camp, known as the 'Camp de César' and the charming village of Mercurey and its ramparts. You will pass ancient crosses, old communal wash houses and vintner houses, en route to Givry and Dracy-le-Fort. Meals: Breakfast
This route along the 'Voie Verte' will bring forest scenery and country villages with 'cadoles' (small stone huts built by vine growers). Immerse in the Burgundy countryside with vineyards, forest, fields with 'Charolaise' cows and nice villages. Meals: Breakfast
Today, see the beautiful countryside. It is worth visiting the St. Gengoux-National to visit its Romanesque Church, its ramparts, its Gargoyles and it Belfry. Afterwards, visit the Château and garden at Cormatin and the great place of pilgrimage, Taizé. Your walk will end in Cluny, which in the Middle Ages was the spiritual centre of Europe, with a huge influence on religion, intellect, art and politics.
