Upon arrival to Helsinki Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. Welcome to Helsinki, the vibrant Capital of Finland. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing in a private first class vehicle, accompanied by your authorised Local Guide for a tour of Helsinki and the Christmas Markets. Helsinki, the Capital of Finland, is also known as the 'Daughter of the Baltic Sea'. The tour includes Senate Square, the University and the Lutheran Cathedral, all fine examples of 1840's Neoclassical architecture. You will also see the colourful Market Square by the sea at the South Harbour, Kaivopuisto Park and the diplomatic residences, the impressive Statue of Marshal Mannerheim, the Parliament Building, Finlandia Hall, the Russian Orthodox Uspenski Cathedral and the Sibelius Monument. The tour also includes a visit to Temppeliaukio Church, known as the 'Rock Church', as it is carved directly into solid rock. After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the Tallink Silja Ferry Terminal for your cruise to Tallin. Upon arrival in Tallinn at Terminal D on the Tallink Ferry from Helsinki, disembark and meet your English Speaking Guide and Coach at the Port to begin your panoramic bus tourto the elegant Kadriorg District, which is home to the impressive Kadriorg Palace. Afterwards, continue to the Coast to enjoy panoramic views of the Baltic Sea from Pirita Beach. During the tour, you will also discover modern Tallinn including the Olympic Yachting Centre, venue for the sailing events of the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games. Pass through the vibrant Telliskivi District, a creative hub set in a former industrial complex. Return to the Old Town and enjoy a short walking tour along the Medieval City Walls and into the historic centre, visiting Toompea Castle, Dome Church (entrance included), Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Medieval Town Hall and the Great Guild Hall. Enjoy some free time in Tallinn’s Old Town to explore the Christmas Markets before lunch at the Medieval Restaurant Olde Hansa. Afterwards, transfer back to the Port for your return Ferry crossing with Tallink from Terminal D to Helsinki. After breakfast, Meet your Guide for a panoramic City tour through Oulu’s monumental, historic and modern districts. The tour includes cultural highlights such as the Oulu Museum of Art and the Music Centre, as well as key innovation areas like Technopolis, the University of Oulu and the University Hospital (entrances not included). During the visit, you will hear stories about the tar merchants, shipbuilders, sailors and salmon fishermen who have shaped the City’s history. To conclude, enjoy a charming walk through the Christmas Market, where the festive atmosphere, seasonal aromas and local traditions create a truly special experience. Shared Optional Excursion: Northern Lights Hunt in Koiteli The Northern Lights Hunt takes place in the beautiful Koiteli area, located approximately a 30 minute drive from the centre of Oulu. Set along the Kiiminkijoki River, Koiteli provides the perfect setting for an outdoor experience in an exclusive and welcoming atmosphere. The name 'Koiteli' comes from the Sámi language and means 'in the middle'. In this unique location, guests will enjoy a charming and memorable dining experience on an Island nestled between two rapids. Guests are welcomed into a cosy cabin with a large fireplace, ideal for relaxing and enjoying a delicious three course dinner. During the evening, the Guide will share insights into Finnish nature, the Koiteli area and the fascinating Northern Lights phenomenon. After dinner, there will be an excellent opportunity to observe and search for the Northern Lights with the assistance of a professional Guide. The area is მშვიდ (calm) and features very low light pollution, making it an ideal location for both viewing and photographing the auroras. Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, check out of the hotel for your transfer to Rovaniemi. Here, visit a Reindeer Farm where you will have the opportunity to see and feed the Reindeer and learn more about their way of life. A traditional lunch is included. Tonight, you will be transferred by coach outside the City to a peaceful natural setting, ideal for observing the night sky. Upon arrival, your Guide will light a campfire while you take in the surroundings and enjoy the silence of the Arctic landscape. A warm drink will be served and sausages will be grilled over the fire. Snowshoes will also be available for those who wish to try them and enjoy a short walk in the area. Share a special moment around the fire, accompanied by stories about Lapland. If the sky is clear, there will be a chance to see the Northern Lights. If not, you will still enjoy a cosy and memorable evening by the fire while learning more about local traditions. Afterwards, return to the hotel for your overnight stay. In the evening, please return your thermal equipment to the hotel reception. Shared Optional Excursion: Sauna Experience During this experience, you will be able to explore a variety of saunas and pools at your own pace. The Rovaniemi Sauna World features eight different saunas, each unique and inspired by various aspects of Finnish culture, with distinct aromas, designs and themes. The experience also includes two Jacuzzis, a cold water pool and a traditional wooden hot tub. Shared Optional Excursion: Snowmobile Experience with Campfire Join this experience to discover the magic of the Arctic nature at sunset. Ride through winter landscapes by snowmobile, lit only by the headlights, heading into a completely dark forest where you will stop for a break. While your Guide lights a campfire, they will share information and interesting facts about the Northern Lights. Enjoy a traditional Lappish snack and grilled sausages by the fire while watching the sky. With a bit of luck, you may also be able to see the Northern Lights.
