Tallinn is a charming blend of Medieval tranquillity and modern urban life. The Medieval Old Town is a busy place in the summer with its many shops, galleries, souvenir markets, outdoor cafés and restaurants. The Morning Walking Tour takes us around the Old Medieval City Walls and into the Old Town where we Tallinn Town Hall, Great Guild Hall, Toompea with its Castle and Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and St. Mary’s Cathedral. In the afternoon, an Optional Excursion is offered to Kadriorg Park and visit to KUMU, the award winning Estonian Art Museum, with its collections of classic and contemporary fine art. Today, offers an Optional Excursion to Lahemaa National Park, where we visit Palmse Manor, a memorial to the Von Pahlen Family and Sagadi Manor. The tour ends with a visit to the charming 16th Century Vihula Manor and the Vodka Museum. Meals: Breakfast
Today, we continue to Tartu, the Historic University Town, where Estonia gained its Statehood. En route, we stop at Põltsamaa Castle, one of Estonia’s notable Medieval Castle complexes, known for its rich history and picturesque setting. Upon arrival in Tartu, we explore the charming Old Town and visit the famous University of Tartu, founded in 1632. The afternoon is free at leisure to explore the city on your own. Meals: Breakfast
Departing from Tartu, we head South to Latvia where our first stop is in Alūksne. From there, we soon reach Stāmeriena, the pearl of European romanticism with its close links to Italian Writer Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa. After our visit, we continue to Cesvaine where we visit the small, private Cesvaine Beer Brewery where you are invited to test the produce. Later in the afternoon, we arrive in Graši and check-in to our picturesque Classicism style Estate in the middle of Latvia for dinner and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Today we discover the cultural and historical treasures of Latvia’s Latgale region. Our journey begins in Preiļi, where we visit a traditional Ceramics Workshop and the elegant Preiļi Castle. We then continue to Aglona, one of Latvia’s most important Pilgrimage Sites, renowned for its Spiritual Heritage and impressive Basilica. Afterwards, we visit Slutišķi Old Believers Village, where we gain insight into the traditions and lifestyle of the Old Believers Community. In the evening, we arrive in Svente for dinner and our overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
The day begins with a visit to Daugavpils including the impressive Daugavpils Fortress and the renowned Mark Rothko Art Centre, dedicated to the celebrated Artist Mark Rothko. We then continue Southwards into Lithuania and around midday arrive at Aukštaitija National Park, a beautiful region of Lakes, Rivulets, and Streams nestled among Forests and rolling Hills. We explore the Park on a gentle walk through its scenic landscapes and visit the charming Lakeside Village of Palūšė, famous for its traditional wooden Church. Vilnius is known for its more than 1,200 Medieval buildings and 48 Churches. This Morning's Walking Tour takes us to the Old Town with Vilnius Cathedral, Gediminas Tower, Peter and Paul Church, St. Anne's Church, Old University and the Gates of Dawn. This afternoon, offers an Optional Tour to The Palace of Grand Dukes of Lithuania where you will learn about the Fortifications and the collection of armaments of the Castle and Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. This morning there is an Optional Tour to the Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights. The former office of the KGB Deputy Chief of Internal Prison on the Museum's first floor includes an exhibition of documents, photographs, maps and other items depicting the Sovietisation of the region in 1940-1941. The afternoon offers another Optional Excursion to Trakai, the Medieval Capital of Lithuania, with its well preserved Trakai Castle, which is beautifully located on an Island in Lake Galvė. Departing from Vilnius, we will head to the Western part of Lithuania. En route, enjoy a stop in Kaunas, which is the former Capital of Lithuania, to admire the beautiful Old Town and the elegant white Baroque Town Hall. After a short Walking Tour in Klaipėda, we take the Ferry to Curonian Spit before transferring to our Nida Resort Town. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. The evening offers an Optional Authentic Fisherman Dinner at 'Tik Pas Jona'. Meals: Breakfast
This morning, there is an Optional Half Day Tour of the Curonian Spit, which is a thin, 100 km stretch of land between the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon offering small Fishing Villages, Pine Forests and endless Sand dunes. The tour takes you to the spectacular Parnidis Dune and Naglis Dune, the Hill of Witches in Juodkrantė and Thomas Mann's Summerhouse. In the early afternoon, we head towards Liepāja. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. The evening offers an Optional Casual Dinner at a Beach café, The Red Sun Buffet, right on the wide sandy Beach. Meals: Breakfast
Liepaja takes its name from the numerous Linden Trees in the City. We start the day with a short stroll in the Old Town with the Trinity Church, Jurmala Park and the former Naval Port area with its famous Orthodox Cathedral. Afterwards, we continue through Southern Latvia to the magnificent Rundāle Palace, the former summer residence of the Duke of Courland. Following a Guided Tour of the Palace, we travel through Latvia to reach Riga in the late afternoon. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. Meals: Breakfast
Founded in 1201, by the German Bishop Albert, Riga is the largest of the three Baltic Capitals and boasts a real kaleidoscope of architectural styles. A Walking Tour this morning takes you to the Art Nouveau District and the Old Town including Riga Castle, the Dome Cathedral, St. Peter's Church, the Swedish Gate, the Three Brothers, the Large and Small Guilds and the Freedom Monument. The afternoon is reserved for an Optional Visit to Jūrmala, the vibrant Latvian Sea Resort, famous for its wooden architecture and sandy Beaches.
