Today, why not join an optional guided tour of Berlin, a city boasting several prestigious Museums, as well as an intense intellectual and artistic life. Afterwards, return onboard in Oranienburg. This afternoon will be spent cruising towards Hohensaaten. In the afternoon, we cruise the Niederfinow boat elevator, which was commissioned in 1934. It is the oldest working boat elevator in Germany. It is located at the Eastern end of the Oder-Havel Canal in Niederfinow, overcoming a 36 metre difference in elevation. In the morning, there is an optional excursion to Greifswald. The historic heart of the city is a jewel of Hanseatic architecture with its ochre, red, blue and white monuments. It is the only German Hanseatic City preserved intact. It is also a University city of tradition. It was the birthplace and study place of the romantic painter Caspar David Friedrich. You will see the city's large Churches, 'Little Jacob', 'Gross Mary' and the Cathedral of 'Great Nicholas', the Town Hall as well as the oldest Pharmacy in Greifswald in Neo-Gothic style dating from the 16th Century. Afterwards, return onboard and depart by boat to Peenemünde, which we will reach in the early afternoon. This afternoon, there is another optional excursion is to the Island of Usedom. Hardly anywhere else you can admire so many different landscapes in such a small area including the beaches of the Baltic Sea and the coasts facing the mainland, lakes and moors, dunes, pine and beech forests and seaside resorts form a mosaic that surprises with its diversity. The seaside resorts of Ahlbeck and Heringsdorf are called the 'Kaiserbäder' (Emperor's baths), being the favourite holiday resorts of Emperor Wilhelm II. Return back onboard and enjoy a Gala dinner this evening as we sail to Lauterbach. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
In the morning, there is an optional excursion to the Island of Rügen, which is the biggest in Germany and famous for its historic beach resorts and its impressive steep chalky cliffs. Afterwards, return to the ship before we continue cruising to Stralsund. In the afternoon, there is an optional guided tour of Stralsund. This Hanseatic Town has been listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 2002 for its stunning architecture typical of northern Germany. Afterwards, return onboard. Disembark this morning before you are transferred by coach towards Rostock. Here, we will board a ferry headed to Gedser. Enjoy lunch on your own today. Upon arrival in Gedser, you will be transferred by coach towards Copenhagen to check-in to your hotel. Settle in and enjoy your afternoon free at leisure before dinner. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
