Day 2: Cycle trip to Pompeii
Today you will cycle to Pompeii and visit this once thriving and sophisticated Roman city, that was buried under metres of ash and pumice after the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D and the Villa dei Misteri. It is the biggest open-air archaeological site in the world and a great example of past human life. Return journey to the Marina di Castellammare and departure with the ship towards Sorrento. On arrival, enjoy a walk around the town before returning to the boat. Overnight on board at the Marina di Cassano in roadstead or in the port of Castellammare in case of bad weather conditions. Overnight on the caique Sorrento.
Cycle Approx: 14 kilometres
Day 3: Sorrento - Positano - Amalfi
This morning depart by bike and cycle along the Sorrento coast. You will cross "Passo San Pietro" (St. Peter's pass) and enter in to the Amalfi coast, where you will cycle along the wonderful road overlooking the sea up to Positano. Its colourful houses have been built in amphitheatre shape, overlooking the sea, giving a unique and picturesque aspect to the village. After Positano, you continue towards Amalfi, the most powerful Mariner Republic at the end of the 10th century. We suggest you visit the cloister of Paradise and the church and take a walk along the main street that connects with many narrow streets between white fishermen's houses.
Cycle Approx: 34 kilometres
Day 4: Amalfi - Minori - Vietri - Cetara
From Amalfi you will continue your cycle tour along the coast, cycling on a street with some ups and downs overlooking the sea, crossing the villages of Minori, Maiori and Cetara. It is possible to make a deviation and go up towards Ravello, where, in the placid beauty of the main square, the Dome dedicated to Saint Pantaleone stands out. The blood of the Saint liquefies every year on 27th July. From the village dominating the sea from 300 metres above sea level, you can enjoy a view beyond the Gulf of Salerno and up to the Cilento mountains. We suggest a visit to Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo, whose architecture is a mixture of Arab, Sicilian and Norman style and was an inspiration for Wagner. You will then return via the road along the coast to finally reach Vietri and Salerno. On returning back to the gulet we will sail to Capri. There will be some breaks during the sailing to take a swim and to admire the Amalfi coast from the sea. Overnight in roadstead in Capri.
Cycle Approx: 29 kilometres + alternative Ravello, approx. 39 kilometres
Day 5: Capri
Disembarkation with the tender in Marina Grande, Capri. Explore the Island on foot as you head to the village of Capri with its famous "Piazzetta". Then continue on to the Faraglioni. From above the cliff, you will enjoy a wonderful panorama on the Gulf of Naples dominated by the Vesuvius. Overnight stay on board in the port of Ischia Island.
Day 6: Ischia
Cycling from Ischia port you will travel along the west part of the island among the scents and flavours of the Mediterranean sea, crossing little villages with the possibility of visiting little museums along the way. Once you reach the thermal village of S. Angelo, you can re-embark the boat for your overnight stay in port.
Cycle Approx: 25 kilometres
Day 7: Procida and Naples
Today, sail to Procida where you will walk around the town and the San Michele Abbey. Return to the boat to continue to Napoli. On arrival disembark and explore the city. Starting from "Spacca Napoli", you will discover the city centre characterized by narrow streets, with washing hung out, baroque churches and palaces, the San-Carlo theatre, the Gallery Umberto the 1st, and the Plebiscito Square. This afternoon you will reach again the caique and you will sail back to Marina di Castellammare di Stabia.
