St. Petersburg is a city, which has lots to show. You will notice that this city was built according to the plan. During your city tour you will pass by the main attractions and iconic sites such as St. Isaac’s Cathedral, Peter and Paul Fortress, Bronze Horseman and the Cruiser “Aurora”, the Hermitage. You will enjoy beautiful views of the city and take some awesome photos.
The Peter and Paul Fortress in St. Petersburg is located on the small Hare Island, that is in the historic core of the city. The history of the city begins with the construction of this military edifice. The name was given after the Cathedral of Peter and Paul located inside the fortress, which became a new imperial sanctuary. In the Cathedral there are 13 members of the Royal Family buried here including Peter the Great and Catherine the Great. Although the Peter and Paul Fortress was intended to protect the city, it is renowned as a political prison.

The Winter Palace is undoubtedly the most famous building of imperial St. Petersburg, not only as the residence of the Tsars and the backdrop for the 1905 and 1917 Revolutions but also as the home of the Hermitage.
The State Hermitage Museum is a museum of art and culture and the second largest museum in the world. If you spend just one minute to see each item within the museum you will need 5.5 years to finish the entire inspection. Originally the Hermitage was a private collection of 200 canvases owned by Catherine The Great. The interiors of the Palace themselves impress greatly. The Hermitage collection includes two paintings by Leonardo da Vinci and a sculpture by Michelangelo, which can be found nowhere else in Russia, as well as the largest collection of Rembrandt's paintings outside Netherlands.
The expositions of the State Hermitage Museum are also located in the General Staff, the Winter Palace of Peter I, Menshikov Palace and the Museum of the Imperial Porcelain Factory, Staraya Derevnya Restoration and Storage Centre.
The Hermitage Diamond Room is a breathtaking museum, famous for priceless gems that used to belong to the Romanov family as well as diplomatic gifts to the Russian court. The Diamond Rooms showcase masterpieces of Russian and European jewellery art and private family collections, as well as pieces of church art and some works by Fabergé.

The folk show at the Nikolaevsky Palace “Feel yourself Russian!” shows the deep history of the country and the wide soul of Russian people.
Included in the program are the Russian folk songs performed by Peters Quartet; a Cossack group called “Maidan” and the folk dances by the choreography collective “Petersburg Stars”.
The show consists of 2 parts (45 min each). During the break, a buffet table with canapés, ham, cheese, red caviar, vodka, wine and champagne will be offered.

The one way drive is about 170 kms to Velikiy Novgorod, one of the oldest Russian cities, first mentioned in chronicles in 859. You will start your tour in Novgorod Kremlin. Here you will find a magnificent Cathedral of Saint Sophia. It is one of the earliest stone structures of Northern Russia.
Yaroslav’s Court is a market place, which was connected to the Kremlin. For several centuries Novgorod competed with the main trading centres of Europe and Asia.
The Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior is known for the fact that the only surviving frescoes by a Russian and Byzantine artist Theophanes the Greek.
Vitoslavlitsy, The Museum of Wooden Architecture is an open-air museum outside of the city. It gives a lot of information about the local way of life and culture where visitors can take part in traditional ceremonies and games.
The complex of the Yuriev Monastery constructions seems grandiose to us now, though the restoration work has not yet been completed.
