St. Petersburg is a city which has lots to show. You will notice that this city was built according to the plan. During your city tour you will pass by the main attractions and iconic sites such as St. Isaac’s Cathedral, Peter and Paul Fortress, Bronze Horseman and the Cruiser “Aurora”, the Hermitage. You will enjoy beautiful views of the city and take some awesome photos.

The Peter and Paul Fortress in St. Petersburg is located on the small Hare Island, which is the historic core of the city. The history of the city begins with the construction of this military edifice. The name was given after the Cathedral of Peter and Paul located inside the fortress, which became a new imperial sanctuary. In the Cathedral to 13 members of the Royal Family are buried including Peter the Great and Catherine the Great. Although the Peter and Paul Fortress was intended to protect the city, it is renowned as a political prison.

The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood marks the spot where Alexander II was fatally wounded in an assassination attempt on March 1, 1881. Stones with traces of the blood of the Tsar are preserved inside the Cathedral until now. The Church's final composition drew heavily from St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow and the Vladimir Cathedral in Kiev.

The Church has an outstanding and varied collection of mosaic icons. Several icons were completed in the traditions of academic painting, modernist style and Byzantine icon painting.

The Faberge Museum has been operating since 2013 and is the biggest museum that houses a private collection of masterpieces created by Carl Faberge. The collection contains about 4000 items, some of them belonging to the families of the last two Russian Emperors, Alexander III and Nicolas II including Faberge eggs given to the Tsarinas to celebrate Easter.

The Winter Palace is undoubtedly the most famous building of imperial St. Petersburg, not only as the residence of the Tsars and the backdrop for the 1905 and 1917 Revolutions but also as the home of the Hermitage.

The State Hermitage Museum is a museum of art and culture and the second largest museum in the world. If you spend just one minute to see each item within the museum you will need 5.5 years to finish the entire inspection. Originally the Hermitage was a
private collection of 200 canvases owned by Catherine The Great. The interiors of the Palace themselves impress greatly. The Hermitage collection includes two paintings by Leonardo da Vinci and a sculpture by Michelangelo, which can be found nowhere else in Russia, as well as the largest collection of Rembrandt's paintings outside Netherlands.

The expositions of the State Hermitage Museum are also located in the General Staff, the Winter Palace of Peter I, Menshikov Palace and the Museum of the Imperial Porcelain Factory, Staraya Derevnya Restoration and Storage Centre.

The Hermitage Diamond Room is a breathtaking museum, famous for priceless gems that used to belong to the Romanov family as well as diplomatic gifts to the Russian court. The Diamond Rooms showcase masterpieces of Russian and European jewellery art and private family collections, as well as pieces of church art and some works by Fabergé.
