Historium, a historical experience attraction, takes you back in time to 15th Century medieval Brugge (Bruges). This major tourist attraction is a one hour total experience where decors, film, music and special effects merge into a magical experience that excites your senses. You will be escorted in your own language using audio guides through the themed rooms. You will be virtually standing in the middle of historical scenes such as the old port or master painter Van Eyck's studio. Step into the past and smell, feel, and experience what it was like to live back then. The story that you experience in Historium takes you back to the 15th Century or 1435 to be precise. You will witness the day when Jacob met the love of his life... The young Jacob works for Jan Van Eyck, the famous painter and in the early morning has to pick up model Anna and parakeet Frederico from the Brugge (Bruges) quays. But not everything goes as planned... You will also be able to enjoy the music by Nicholas Lens specially written for Historium and performed by the Brussels Philharmonic and the Flemish Radio Choir.

This tour will take you on a very moving journey as you make your way to a German Cemetery, before heading over to a section of the WW1 trenches. Visit the Monument of the ‘Brooding Soldier’, which commemorates the sacrifice of 2000 Canadian soldiers during the first German gas attack.
After a delicious set lunch in Ypres your guide will take you to the outstanding Flanders Fields Museum. Here you will hear touching stories behind four years of trench war.
Visit the famous Commonwealth Cemetery of Tyne Cot, where some 13,000 men lay at rest. We arrive at Essex Farm a former field hospital and the spot where John McCrae wrote his famous poem In Flanders Fields.
A short drive brings us back to Ypres where you can enjoy free time for dinner. At 20:00pm sharp we attend the moving Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate. At the conclusion of the service we drive back to Brugge (Bruges).
