The Midnight Sun Experience

Take a walk on the wild side in Finland

Hiking under the midnight sun through Finland’s unspoilt pine forests makes for an unforgettable experience. There are hiking trails for all ages and levels so the hardest bit is choosing. If you don’t have a lot of time, Nuuksio National Park is just under an hour away from Helsinki and offers wild forest walks past beautiful lakes. Or a bit further afield, head to the top of Ukko-Koli hill in the Koli National Park for magnificent views of Lake Pielinen.

Explore the Lofoten Islands by kayak

The best way to experience Norway’s Lofoten Islands is by sea, and by that we mean by kayak. Glide through the water and take in the stunning scenery around you as you explore the fjords and admire the mountains, bays, beaches and small fishing villages. There are midnight sun guided kayay tours or you can hire your own kayak and explore at your own pace.

There’s nothing like a summer festival

Sweden’s Malmo festival, known locally as Malmöfestivalen, is worth planning your trip around. It’s a week long affair of dance, art, music and street food. 1.4million people visit every year making it Scandinavia’s largest city festival.
